WAC Family Day!

The 8th of January was the date of DI's first outing in 2011! Impactors rose up early in the morning and headed towards Honour Room at 7.50am to gather as one DI before taking a bus to the marina barrage for a fun filled time of bonding!

The marina barrage outing was a joint outing between the impactors as well as the rest of the church congregation. Upon reaching the marina barrage, the entire church gathered together before a beautiful fountain display to take a group photo. Soon enough, the photo taking session did turn into a time of fun and laughter when numerous members of the congregation ventured into the cold waters of the fountain, a foretaste of the fun times that lay up ahead!

The congregation then headed up to the rooftops of the marine barrage where a time of games commenced. Everyone was split into six groups for a time of icebreakers. Games such as a treasure hunt for items around the marina barrage as well as an amusing competition between groups took place, eventually resulting in group three securing a victory! Well done group three!

Following that, it was time for a short break before the beginning of the Frisbee tournament. However, everyone was having so much fun during the break time and in addition to time constraint as well as bad weather conditions, the Frisbee tournament was replaced with a free and easy time for everyone to mix around and have fun!

It was truly a great time spent as assortments of different activities were conducted. Some preferred to play touch rugby or frisbee, others had a amazing time spent flying multi coloured kites. Against the backdrop of the splendid scenery, it was indeed quite a sight.

Sadly, all good things have to come to an end and with the onset of rain, everyone headed back to the ground floor to rest for awhile and spend some more time with one another.

With all the activities, stomaches were growling in hunger and soon impactors were once again on the bus, this time headed towards the maxwell food centre. Upon reaching there, impactors purchased their food and had a time of fellowship over a meal, and it was a sumptuous meal for many indeed!

The outing to marina barrage was certainly a new experience for many. It was a time of bonding between the members of the congregation, a time spent getting to know new friends, surely an unforgettable experience!
