Easter, It's more than just eggs, bunnies and chocolates.
It was a sunny yellow banana day! ...well, not really. The morning started out with a heavy rain. Still, thank God that the rainclouds drifted off to some nearby island soon after.

Mr Golden Sun rained down his warmth as we assembled in Honor Room with expectant hearts looking forward to an Egg-xiting day ahead!
As the impactors settled down with their friends, the event organizers kickstarted the event with none other than... a briefing.
Then, armed with the routemap, we headed down to the Singapore Botanical Gardens!
Reaching the starting spot, we were given a task each to complete before being able to attain the clue to the next station. There were five stations in total and each group had their own paths to travel. In this post, we will follow the path taken by Venus' group in the race!

First Stop:
Teams were to relate a parable (parable of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl) from Bible given to them in 10 photos, then present it to the Game/Station Master ( Lefa )
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. 45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."
-Matthew 13:44-45

Rhema boys giving their all for God
After which, the team was given an envelop of Dinosaur gummies and were asked to figure out their next destinations. (clue: 'look at what you're eating')Then, the team found themselves at the Evolution Garden.

Station Master: Justin
Task: Locate the hidden eggs and memorise the bible verse attached to each egg in order-word by word.
Here, we were reminded that Christ died for our sins and crime, that in Him we were a new creation. Hallelujah!
Then, we were given a clue : Natalie Portman. (association to recent movie 'Black Swan' should bring members to the Swan Lake)
Station Master : Edward
Task: Members were to guide another blindfolded member to an envelope filled with bible verses from the Parable of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl and rearrange them in correct order.
Hence, we were further reminded of the need to give our all for Christ, our Lord- and that His reward is better than anything we could ever have on earth.
The team was then asked to unscramble words for the clue to their next destination- the Eco pond (located very conveniently at the other end of the park.)
Still, thank God for being our strength and motivation to complete the race.
Station Master: Pearl
Task: A good break! Each member was given a slice of bread and a cup of ribena, certainly very much welcomed after all the activities. The significance of this act of course extends beyond just eating and drinking but it is remembering the last supper where Jesus had called his disciples to eat and drink in remembrance of Him. Upon completion of the activity, group members were taught how to make crosses by a few simple folds and a cut with the scissors, and each member had to make two such crosses before they were given the clue to the next station, a picture of a location that had to be found.
Afterwhich, the team arrived at the last station- Eunice's.
Upon arriving, the team was given a mystery to solve:
It was at this place, on the 22 April 2011, a man was found murdered on a dark and scary afternooon, horribly abused, and left abandoned. You came here and inspected the crime scene. This is a place where everyone can see, a place everyone could easily walk past. You looked at the sundial and noted the time. You looked around and saw a $10 note lying on the floor with the emptied wallet of the dead man strewn alongside. All the man’s valuables have been taken away. There were no signs of retaliation or any struggle that took place as there were no dirt under the nails of the man, which signified he didn’t scratch or fight anyone. This probably was one of the most gruesome deaths you have ever been assigned to solve.
You are given four three clues:
1. A picture of the back view of a father and a son
2. A verse Gal 3:13b "Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree"
3. An image of a S$50 note
4. A hammer found at the scene of the crime
Solve the following:
1. The motive
2. The time of death
3. The weapons
4. The method
5. The murderer
Upon submitting their answers to Eunice, who coyly refused to reveal the real answer, the teams were then sent back to the starting point, signifying the end of the race.
Teams went back to meet up with their zones for a picnic dinner (food courtesy of Eunice and Pearl) and a time of fellowship and bonding.

Princess Warriors Marching In!
Ominous clouds came and loomed over our heads as we waited for food. So, we prayed for good weather after giving thanks for food. Lo and behold! Praise the Lord, the drizzle ceased and we got to relax in the shade.
Great Friends, Great Food, Great God. :)
Sadly, fun times are short. We bade farewell to the Singapore Botanical Gardens as we embarked on our journey back to Jurong East.
There were tons of moments to thank God for during this event:
Thank God for the good weather
Thank God for the friends that came
Thank God for the friends we made
Thank God for the strength he gave us
Thank God for the seeing the event through
Thank God for the event organizers
Thank God for the fun we had
Thank God for helping us navigate through Singapore Botanical Gardens
Thank God for guiding those who were lost (literally and spiritually) back onto the right path.
Thank God for the good food we've had
Thank God for the fats we've burned
and the list goes on... still,
THANK GOD FOR EVERY MOMENT IN OUR LIVES! :)
We should always give thanks and remember the Grace of God that he overcame Death on this day, many, many years ago- for our sake. Just so we may live.
Praise God.
Two things before we end off.
Firstly, knowing all that God has done for us, what are we going to do about it? Love Beyond is coming up this June holidays, and perhaps it is only appropriate that as Christ has laid down His life for us, so we too lay down our lives for the kingdom work.
Secondly, remember Eunice's station? Well, the mystery remains unsolved and Eunice will be releasing the answer THIS SATURDAY, so come down and join us as we find out the truth behind this story!
