To Save A Life

Many impactors were perhaps pleasantly surprised by the deviation of our usual routine of D.I. Encounter on Saturday - instead of having chairs, we sat on the floor. And that's not the fun part - we got to eat chips while we watched snippets from the movie "To Save A Life"!

I shan't spoil the movie for those who have not watched it before. All I can say is that it's basically about a teenage boy trying to find meaning in life and God after his friend committed suicide.

The movie was very well made and thought provoking as it touches upon issues of the common-yet-difficult struggles of a youth in this messed up world. As we multiply into our cell groups to share about what we've watched, we discovered that perhaps we as Christians have too often judged a person through their appearance or actions and have failed to really just relate with that person.

I won't go into great detail of the movie and the lessons learnt but I'll just leave you guys with this question that we've heard on Saturday as well: What's the point of going to church, reading the bible etc if we're not going to let them change us?

Once you've lost something you thought you couldn't live without, only to find that God Himself will sustain you, it gives you faith to move forward after the next setback.
